Some climb mountains or challenge themselves and the team by performing extreme challenges. In Villa Helene’s kitchen we challenge you and the team on what good food is all about. Since we opened Villa Helene’s kitchen in 2002, we have created many meals. This has been an inspirational experience for many participants as the opportunity to talk to the person next to you while preparing food at the same time has led to improved communication and problem-solving in many companies. We can highly recommend this type of event.
The concept “Let’s prepare food together” is a perfect ending to a conference or a meeting instead of going to the restaurant. It is the perfect opportunity to spend some enjoyable hours combining the experience of talking and preparing food whilst taking on the role of chef. First of all you will be given thorough and expert guidance on how to work in a kitchen followed by a run-through of the evening menu and the raw produce that will be used. In addition, we will demonstrate different ways of cutting and preparing food. The team will be divided into 3 groups: one group prepares the first course, the second group prepares the main course and the third group is responsible for the dessert. A chef will be present all the time to help and give good advice. If you get stuck or you have too much time leftover, the chef will quickly find a little side dish for you to prepare. Finally, the meal will be served and the team can enjoy the fruits of their labours. We will take care of the washing up, clearing up and serving. We have different menus to choose from depending on how much you want to pamper yourselves.
Kitchen Challenge!
For this event you will challenge each other on creativity and inter-personal skills.
The challenge is a fixed menu for example:
- First course: lobster
- Main course: roast veal
- Dessert with ice cream
Each team is given a basket of raw produce.
The team then has to put together a menu and decide on whether the main ingredients need to be boiled, fried, steamed or any other method of preparation. Next, the team will have to decide on which trimmings to use and how to present he dish. We have a number of cookery books and magazines to help you with your challenge, and a computer to help you search for ideas. And a course you can always use a life-line “Ask the chef” but that will give you penalty points. However, you do have 3 free questions at the start of the challenge.
The team is competing for the best taste and presentation. The chef is the judge and his word is final. There is a surprise for the winning team.
Working together in a restaurant
Obviously we cannot adapt a restaurant where guests can order different dishes. However, working in a restaurant kitchen demands discipline, accurateness, cooperation and speed. When we work in a “restaurant”, the starting point is “we prepare the food together”. The only difference is that before the team gets cracking, it sets a specific time for when the first course, main course and desert should be served. It is then up to the team to manage the preparation, the serving and to coordinate the logistics with regards to timing of speeches. It is good fun and leads to many a good discussion afterwards.
“Chefs dining”
This type of event is designed for those who prefer to enjoy themselves rather than toil in a hot kitchen. We lay the table in the kitchen itself (max. 14 persons). Whilst you sit and enjoy yourself, the chef prepares the menu that will be served by our waiters. During the course of the event, you will have the opportunity to ask both the chef and waiters questions and get good tips on dishes, methods of preparation and wine.

Menu 1, welcome drink, wine menu and coffee DKK 1.475,00 per person
Menu 2, welcome drink, wine menu and coffee DKK 1.525,00 per person
Menu 3, welcome drink, wine menu and coffee DKK 1.645,00 per person
Additional exclusive wine package DKK 350.00 per person. The minimum price per cookery school is DKK 15.000,00.
